Maharashtra govt announces new Covid task force amid spike in cases
In the backdrop of the hike in Covid cases, the task force‘s responsibilities include establishing protocols for managing serious and critical Covid-19 patients, recommending staffing in critical care hospitals, and suggesting drug protocols for consistent treatment of severely ill Covid patients.
After dissolving the Covid task force months ago, the state health department has announced a new task force to guide the Maharashtra government in formulating rules and regulations necessary to contain the virus as cases rise.
Meanwhile, with the government increasing daily testing to an average of 3,500, Maharashtra has witnessed a significant decline in the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) percentage of positive Covid-19 cases of total tests conducted which stood at 1 per cent on Tuesday.
