It comes as a saddenning news that the most popular model-actress passes away after battling with cervical cancer at 32
Her death raises concerns over the lack of awareness around cervical cancer, the need for prevention and the stigma around it. And yet there’s a vaccine which, when taken by girls before puberty, can stop its incidence in the first place.
As per Pandey’s manager the actor was diagnosed in the last stage of the dreaded disease sometime ago. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in India.
The news sent shockwaves across the nation with the topic ‘cervical cancer’ topping social media trends, her team, in another official note, mentioned that the news was posted after confirmation from her sister.
However, they are awaiting official confirmation on the matter. It is exclusively learnt that Poonam’s sister, as well as her family members, are ‘unreachable’.
As per a WHO report released on February 1, new cases of cervical cancer among Indian women is 17.7 per cent.
The actor made her acting debut with ‘Nasha’.
