Singer and musician Anup Jalota got emotional over his the sad demise of his friend and Ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas.
Anup was present at residence — 6A, Hill Side on Tuesday to pay last respects to the Padma Shri awardee.

Speaking to the media persons, Anup got emotional and said, “It’s very difficult to forget him. For people it is Pankaj Udhas who has gone, but for him he has lost a ‘yaar.’

Both he and Anup have spent a beautiful time together; singing ghazals and songs. Anup imagine that the person who has worked his entire life for cancer patients, Pankaj died due to cancer.

Jalota feels having lost a member in his family. They both used to catch up, have food together, sing songs everywhere even on their world tours. It’s a personal loss for him.

Pankaj Udhas was laid to rest in the Hindu Crematorium at Mumbai’s Worli on Tuesday afternoon. He was accorded a state funeral. The band and troops gave him a hero’s farewell.
