Actress Megha Sharma bids adieu to “Pandya Store”
Actress Megha Sharma frustrated with the lack of screen time and substance, has bid adieu to ‘Pandya Store’
As of now she is portraying Chhabili, Amba’s (Ashenanya Khare) confidant in Pandya Store which she whlloined thst in July last year, is currently serving her one-month notice period. Her last day of shooting is scheduled for May 6.
Coming to the decision to leave the daily soap wasn’t easy for Megha, but she felt it was necessary for her personal growth. She says, she.is extremely fond of the show, the cast, and the crew, and if she had the option, she wouldn’t have chosen to quit.
However, as an artiste, her priority is her character and her growth. Unfortunately, she wasn’t growing. She barely had any screen time. She raised her concerns with the production house in November because she was frustrated with the lack of screen time and substance. The production team asked her to wait for a couple of months due to the World Cup. However, the wait was extended by four months without any improvement. The character’s graph wasn’t improving. In the midst of this time, she had to turn down a couple of opportunities.
She went in to add that in January, she was informed she was free to make a decision.
The decision to quit the show has been amicable. She loved portraying the character as it had many layers. There was an ample opportunity for performance and improvisation. So, it was unfortunate that the character didn’t have the chance to flourish.”
The actress wants to take up a project that enables her to exhibit her acting talent. She doesn’t want to work for the sake of per day, wear make-up, and stand in a corner, but, wants to take up substantial roles and showcase her acting abilities. I
While signing off she said that she wanted to take up a project that allows her to grow artistically.
