Since their marriage in 2018, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas have been setting up couple goals and one such instance was when she determined to transform from Priyanka Chopra to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, to honor the traditions of family but without losing one’s identity.
Further elaboration from Priyanka is that it was her choice so she could embrace both families’ legacies without losing the name she built over the years.
She shared her feelings upon seeing the new name in print for the first time on a popular podcast. It was described by the actress as something mixed with a surprise and realization.
The actress further went on to add that although there wasn’t any pressure from anyone her to change her name, she still wanted to honor her parents’ tradition but balance it with her identity.
Looking to the future and paying respect to the customs, Priyanka hoped that someday, in the future, changing one’s name would not be an impossibility, perhaps the men of the relationship would take their partner’s last name. But about the name “Jonas,” there she made sure to set the record straight that her identity as Priyanka Chopra will never go away.
Currently, Priyanka is on shoot for Season 2 of ‘Citadel’ and awaits for the release of the most awaited Heads of State.
Actually it was supposed to be Nick Jonas changing his name to Nick Jonas Chopra.
