Neelam Kothari recalls parting ways from Rishi Sethia
Recently, well-known actress Neelam Kothari recounted on how her daughter Ahana googled her that she had been divorced.
Neelam, as of now married to actor Samir Soni, recounted on her divorce from Rishi Sethia for the first time.
Speaking to Ektaa Kapoor, she recalled the moment when her daughter Ahana googled her and discovered that she had been divorced, which shattered her to a great extent.
She went on to add that she came from work, and Ahana was with her friends. Normally, jumping around, they are screaming and shouting. But this time, there was pin-drop silence. And Ahana came to her and asked, “Mama, you never told me you were divorced.” I got stumped and devoid of words. She asked her that first of all, how did she know, she explained that she is a celebrity and her friends and she were sort of googling you.
The first thing that came up was that of divorce – she wanted her daughter to find out.
Furthermore, Neelam was seen breaking down and talking over her divorce stating that he stated that after marriage, she moved to a new country and was told to wear Indian clothes, to give up non-veg, and go-off drinks.
Changing her name also, according to her, people do that, but changing her identity, is something she wasn’t okay with. She reached a point where she questioned herself. “How is she allowing this?” She used to be in a supermarket or going out for lunch, and someone would walk up to her and say, “Are you Neelam the actress?
This left her shattered and she decided to leave. Neelam shared that today she takes pride in having been a successful actress, having worked in 40 films throughout her career. It was wasn’t a cake walk. She had to struggle to make it.
Neelam thinks that it is something no woman on this earth should ever have to deal with losing her identity.
