Sivakumar recalls on son Suriya’s maturing years at Kanguva audio launch
Sivakumar recalls on son Suriya’s maturing years at Kanguva audio launch. He requested him to not embarrass him.
Sivakumar also opened up on how Suriya was a sincere worker in a garments export company prior to plunging into the world of cinema in 1997.
Veteran actor Sivakumar is acknowledged for his acting and oratorical skills, and a highly respected member of the Tamil cinema community. Father of actors Suriya and Karthi, Sivakumar is considered the most dignified statesman of Tamil cinema. The legend was at the Kanguva audio launch, where he spoke about Suriya’s growing up days, and regaled the audience with his narration. Firstly, he assured that Kanguva is certainly up there with the best of Suriya’s films. “The real challenge for Suriya is to make a film better than Kanguva.
Rajinikanth’s special video message lights up Kanguva audio launch. He believes Siva wrote the film for him before it went to Suriya and Gnanavel Raja.
When they asked for B.Com admission in Loyola College for Suriya, it was rejected. When he asked the principal, he said that legendary actor Sivaji Ganesan’s son joined the course, but didn’t finish it. The same with legendary producer Balaji’s son. Somehow, he convinced him to give Suriya the seat, and he ended up with four arrears at the end of three years,”
As the laughter subsided, Sivakumar also spoke about how Suriya was a sincere worker in a garments export company before he plunged into the world of cinema.
He used to ride from Ambattur to Harbour with huge rolls of garment. He swept the office premises every morning. In fact, the company knew that he was my son only six months after he joined it. From there, he is now doing a massive film like Kanguva. He must thank every producer and director, and the almighty for giving him opportunities.
