
Actress Anupria Goenka said it was heartbreaking for her to lose Salman Khan’s Sultan to Anushka Sharma.
Notably actress Anupria Goenka has been a part of popular films like Tiger Zinda Hai, Padmaavat and War. She was also seen in successful OTT projects like Sacred Games, Abhay and Criminal Justice.
But, ironically, one project she missed out on was Salman Khan starrer “Sultan”. While she gave more than 10 auditions for the part, she lost it to Anushka Sharma. In a recent chat with media persons, she recalled not being a typical Yash Raj Films (YRF) heroine.
Anupria went on to reveal that d, she had auditioned for film Sultan featuring Salman Khan.At that time around, the makers were on the look out for new artistes. Total she had given 12 Auditions which included music test, a dance test with choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant and then there were readings with Ali Abbas Zafar.

Anupria also recalls her co-star got ‘excited’ amidst intimate scenes aother actor almost put hands on her ‘ butt’.
She also added, that one-month process was beautiful. Thankfully for her the entire process was in one machine. Had it taken one year then anxiety crops. They give you some other script and they make you audition on that… It was only when she met Ali and he kept referring to ‘Mr Khan’, then I realised this was for Sultan and the main part.
“The entire process was very heartbreaking when she didn’t get it, of course. One thing is that she is dusky, which is very proud of as she loves being dusky. But she isn’t a typical YRF heroine, right? She doesn’t have the most shapely legs…,” the actress mentioned.
Sultan proved to be a blockbuster at the box office, and Anushka Sharma’s role as a wrestler was appreciated by the audience.
