Following PM Modi’s May 2026 appeal to conserve fuel, several Indian states—including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand are promoting remote work and reduced travel. Delhi has mandated 2 days of WFH for government staff, while UP and other regions are advising corporate sectors to adopt hybrid models.
According to reports, PM Modi directed the SPG to reduce his official convoy size by 50%, increase the use of electric vehicles, and avoid fresh vehicle purchase.
