News comes to the fore that legendary actor Salman Khan may eventually relocate from his historic Galaxy Apartments after obtaining clearance from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to construct a new six-storey residential building. It’s learned that the new seaside upcoming bungalow is located on Chimbai Road, Bandra, a quieter lane just a few hundred meters down from Galaxy. The approved project spans approximately 1,014 square meters. It will feature a ground floor, stilt parking, and six upper floors. Earlier the plan was granted preliminary clearance Intimation of Disapproval (IOD) by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and now has final coastal authority clearance. Construction mandates no felling of existing trees; additionally, the builders must plant native tree species on-site.
The actor has lived with his family at Galaxy Apartments since 1974. The upcoming location is more secluded and aims to provide heightened security and privacy.
While the clearance is a major step toward building the new home, neither Salman Khan nor his family have officially confirmed their intent to permanently relocate from their historic Galaxy Apartments balcony.
