Sadak-2 actress Chrisann Pereira framed in alleged drug case gets clean chit from Sharjah Court lands in Mumbai
Sadak-2 actress Chrisann Pereira framed in alleged drug case in Sharjah landed in Mumbai late Wednesday night after the UAE authorities cleared her of all the charges of drug case and deleted her name from the travel blacklist.
As per Mumbai police officials, it is a major boost to their investigation as it was owing to them after they investigated and found that she was framed in the alleged drug case by baker Paul Anthony.
Joint commissioner of police (crime) Lakhimpur Gautam confirmed her arrival saying that the crime branch team along with Chrisann will be meeting the Mumbai police commissioner today, Thursday.
Last month, the Sharjah officials had informed the Pereira family that her passport was sent to a committee that was to take a call on her return to India.
The committee was taking a review on the removal of her name from the travel blacklist.
In April upon the request by the Indian Government through diplomatic channel that she was framed in the case,
Sharjah court had given her a clean chit.
The city crime branch arrested broker Paul Anthony and his accomplice Rajesh Bhobhate alias Ravi and drug peddler Shantisingh Rajput for allegedly orchestrating a fake audition for a web series in Sharjah, sending and planting drugs on Chrisann on April 1.
In the midst of the course of investigations, it transpired that the accused similarly planted drugs on four other victims namely Clayton Rodrigues, Monisha D mello, Rishikesh Pandya and Ken Rodrigues over grudges.
