Notedly, Sonali has never been the one to simply bask in her famous husband’s glory. She was his college-mate in Nagpur and that is how they fell in love and then got married.
For two decades, she was got with the family and raising their two boys. Now that her sons, Eshaan and Ayaan, are young adults, Sonali who has always been an independent person, has given wings to her dreams.
Last December, Sonali decided to further her academic pursuits and applied to universities overseas for courses in creative writing and design. Once she cleared her IELTS in Mumbai, she was flooded with string of interesting offers from various universities. She narrowed down on Macquarie University, Sydney, in the New South Wales region in Australia, since she found it to be most-viable year-long course for her. And before she knew it, she had bagged a scholarship too, giving her more incentive to restart her studies.
While Sonali has shifted base to Sydney renting an apartment close to the campus, as of now she is in Mumbai for a short break to catch up with Sonu and her sons.
Sonu, a school teacher’s son has always encouraged everyone to pursue further studies. And, he’s “proud” of his wife who according to him Sonu was never the one to sit idle. She is constantly on the go and has always wanted to study, write, and dabble in creative arts.
Not to forget she is also a keen baker and a good cook. She has a keen sense of design. Their home and his office have been done under her supervision.
She mentioned that she wanted a degree or diploma in creative writing. Sonu feels happy that she is following up on that.
Sonali is also happy that both her sons are cheering their mother for following up on her independent plans. One hears that Eshaan, the 20-year-old, will reportedly join films; Ayaan, the teenage one is a school topper. He is also a keen cricketer and plays in local tournaments.
