Amid rumours of defecting to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena Sanjay Nirupam officially criticized Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut after Raut used profanity against six party MPs who skipped a key New Delhi meeting amid rumors of defecting to the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena.
Addressing reporters, Raut declared the absent MPs dishonest, challenging them to resign and face the [electorate]. He additionally claimed the lawmakers were bribed.
Nirupam responded by stating that Raut’s abusive language demonstrates the “collapse” of the Uddhav Thackeray camp’s leadership. He attributed the restlessness among the cadre to the party’s departure from its original Hindutva ideology.
The intense press conferences and direct allegations have fueled speculation of an imminent split.
