Prime Minister Modi is currently on a three-day official visit to Seychelles. Arriving on Saturday, he was welcomed at the Seychelles International Airport by President Dr. Patrick Herminie.
PM Modi was invited as the Guest of Honour for the Golden Jubilee celebrations marking 50 years of Seychelles’ independence.
He toured the Seychelles National Botanical Garden in Victoria with President Herminie, where they participated in a tree-plantation ceremony and visited the giant tortoise enclosure to see 194 year old Jonathan, the world’s oldest living land animal recognised by Guinness World Records and fed the animal.
He is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral discussions, address the National Assembly of Seychelles, and interact with the local Indian diaspora.
The Diplomatic Milestone: The meeting took place during PM Modi’s three-day State Visit to Seychelles. He attended the nation’s National Day Golden Jubilee celebrations as the Guest of Honour, marking 50 years of diplomatic ties.
