Comprehensive measures have been taken by Modi government to improve sectors like connectivity, education and security in the region to facilitate growth and ease of living.
Critical roads like the 110 km of NH44 connecting Jowai along the Meghalaya-Assam border have been completed. 440 km of highways in Mizoram, 567 km in Nagaland, 229 km in Sikkim and 370 km in Tripura are under various stages of implementation.
Several initiatives that help people earn livelihoods have been launched by the Modi govt. 97 processing & packaging units benefitting 1,094 villages are being set up. Microfinance schemes are reaching out to 7 lakh beneficiaries, of which 95% are women.
