Jitendra Awhad- “BDD Chawl nobody will be homeless” assures 400 police families
Dr Jitendra Awhad- Housing Minister- Maharashtra said ,”Today, 400 retired police personnel from BDD Chawl met me. Hon’ble Chief Minister and Sharad Pawar Saheb have ordered not to make anyone homeless. Aaditya Thackeray and I will sit down and take a final decision soon.”
Even earlier in mid June Dr Awhad had met the residents in a joint meeting with Govt officials wherein he had said
“BDD Chaal, no. M. Joshi held a meeting of all concerned at Marg. Most of the questions were answered in the affirmative and I was able to put a smile on their faces. I’m sure these projects will get underway soon.
Dr Awhad added, “Many chawl-dwellers had to sell their houses in the chawl’s and buy houses beyond Thane to make a living. This is in my mind, BDD chawl’s will definitely develop.”
“I am looking at the development of BDD Chawl from an emotional point of view and not from a political point of view. Lucky are the people living in BDD Chawl. People living in 160-180 sq ft houses get 500 sq ft houses in the same place.” said Dr Awhad
