Mahesh Manjrekar plans to quit film ‘Swantantrya Veer Savarkar’. Reason being actor Randeep Hooda’s obsession that killed the film for him.
The filmmaker spills the beans into the details of why he opts to quit from the historical and the very reason behind the prep of the film
Mahesh Manjrekar was all geared up to helm Randeep Hooda’s Swantantrya Veer Savarkar announced recently.
While interacting with the media he revealed that one thing that hurt him was that it seemed as if Randeep had planned to slowly ease him out of the film.
for which he had lived with the story for more than five years.
That it was he who approached producers Sandeep Singh and Anand Pandit with the subject. They agreed to work on the project. They then discussed about the actor to play the lead. Randeep’s name came up and they did a look test with him. He realized that he fit the bill. Hence, he was roped in. Manjrekar doesn’t write dialogues, but, his screenplay was very much there, and Sandeep suggested that we get a writer on board. But abruptly Randeep Hoods’s obsession killed the film for Manjrekar.
