Veteran actor Anupam Kher yet lives in rented house in Mumbai’s iconic Juhu

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, has appeared in nearly 500 films in various languages and has accomplished significant milestones in his illustrious career.

Notably, the Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directorial “The Kashmir Files” elevaged him into the Rs 200 crore club, solidifying his position as one of the top character actors in Hindi cinema.

Notwithstanding the glamorous image associated with Bollywood stars, it might come as a big surprise that Anupam Kher still resides in a rented house in Mumbai Juhu Scheme.

Over an interview Anupam revealed his unconventional choice of living in a rented flat. Contrary to the trend among top actors who often own luxurious properties, Anupam revealed that the only real estate he ever invested in was a home for his mother in Shimla.

His decision from not owning property in Mumbai was a conscious one, driven by a desire to maintain a simple and unencumbered lifestyle.

Anupam in the same interview, shared his mother’s dream of owning a house in Shimla, where he spent his formative years. To fulfil this dream, he purchased a property in Shimla with nine bedrooms as a gift for his mother, Dulari Kher.

This heartfelt gesture was a testament to the actor’s commitment to providing his mother with a home in the picturesque hill station.

As per media reports, Anupam Kher’s Shimla nine bedroom residence boasts of ample space and comfort for his family.

In 2017, the actor had taken to his Twitter to announce the purchase of the house, explaining that his mother had lived in a rented house in Shimla throughout her life.
The acquisition of the property marked the realization of his mother’s long-cherished dream of having her own home in the scenic hill station.
