Ramadan from Tuesday 12 March- Crescent moon sighted in Saudi Arabia on March 10
As per the Islamic calendar which depends on the cycle of the moon, the month of Ramadan, the 40 days fast by the minority community begins from Tuesday 12 March since the crescent moon was sighted in Saudi Arabia on March 10.
In the midst of this month, Muslims all across the globe fast from sunrise until sunset. The two main meals during the fasting period are Iftar, which is consumed after sunset, and Sehri, before sunrise.
The Iftar timings likewise fluctuate every day as they are based on the sunset. The Iftar hours vary significantly in India due to the country’s huge geographic variations. Depending on where you live, the dawn-to-dusk fast might last somewhere from 12 to 17 hours.
