Randeep Hooda feels piqued over lack of support to “Veer Savarkar” and goes on to say that only his family, his wife, and…’
Actor-turned-director Randeep Hooda’s recent release Swatantrya Veer Savarkar opened to poignant blend
and didn’t turn up to the mark at the box office.
In a podcast Hooda opened up over the lack of support for the film and how he had to sell his properties to keep the film going.
Randeep opened up that they faced difficulties in making the film from the start because the team initially attached to the project didn’t have the intention to make a quality film, but just wanted to make a film.
And when he took up thr film as a director, that quality was not going to work. Because of this, the production house had to face a lot of problems that included financial crunch.
He went on to add that even after having his horses, he had to sell the properties that his father bought for him with his hard-earned money for this film.
The support this type of film should have gained, it didn’t get that from anyone. He did get support from the people who invested in the film with him, his crew, and the cast, but they didn’t get any other help. So he kept on going alone. He fails to fathom the reasons behind not getting any sort of support.
But he doesn’t want to go back to the struggles he encountered while making this film. Only his family, his wife, and he knew what all they went through.
About how he brought his weight to sixty kgs for the movie, he elaborated that he would have only water, black coffee, and green tea, then he added chilla to his diet, some dark chocolate and nuts. He began to lose sleep, and even fell down a couple of times on set amidst shoot.
At the premiere of Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, Ankita Lokhande’s mother-in-law gave sassy reply when asked about Randeep Hooda’s trailer.
In the movie, Randeep Hooda packs an impeccable punch in this hard-hitting & eye-opening biographical drama.
Ankita Lokhande’s stills as Yamunabai from Randeep Hooda’s ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ looked much impressive.
