Aishwarya sashays down red carpet at 77th Cannes Film Festival despite fractured wrist

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan walked down the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival despite her fractured wrist and captivated one and all. She was attired in Shane Peacock selections. What was obvious, however, was her bandaged arm that was telling of an injury she had sustained earlier.

On May 11, the actor fractured
her right wrist after a fall at her residence. But notwithstanding her injury, she still made it to the Cannes to fulfil her brand commitments.

A source adds that she demonstrated unflinching
spirit, and committed to her craft,” says the source, adding that she also participated in media interactions amidst her time at the festival.

Two days following her fall, she did her costume fittings with her designers, and only with a request that they ensure that the venue was spacious and comfortable so that she could avoid another injury. The brand was thankful and appreciative that she met her share of the deal despite being in pain,” says the source, adding that Rai also registered her vote in the fifth phase of the elections on Monday.

Later this week, she will undergo surgery at a suburban hospital. As per her doctors had she could undergo surgery after the swelling subsides and granted permission to travel for the festival. She is likely to be seen in a splint for a month, and will subsequently undergo physiotherapy to regain her strength.
