Director Nag Ashwin has emerged as ‘man of moment with Kalki turning into blockbuster success
Even as director Nag Ashwin, is on cloud nine he posted a touching and humble message on Instagram remembering his journey along with Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt.
Reportedly, the film has taken the globe by a rampage. The movie grossed c 500 Crore Gross in the first weekend and a strong Monday indicates bigger things are in store.
He added that around 10 years ago, the three of them began their debut feature film “Yevade” together… Vyjayanti was at a low and this film was a risky one…heb remembers a day of shoot with 20 extras and it rained…they couldn’t finish and meant we had to come back and setup again…that extra cost was unaccounted for and made us break down and panic…in retrospect that cost wasn’t much at all…from that to this… 10 years later…every movie they have made together, is not just successful at the box office, but a small milestone in film history, in its own way…he feels proud and blessed to stand between these two…and be part of the impossible things we are pulling off… There are shortcomings…there is so much room to improve… And they shall. For now, just Gratitude
The director rightly summarized the journey of Vyjayanthi in the last ten years. The message has the hardships they faced, the passion they carried, and the humility they possess despite this massive success.
The trio revived the glory of Vyjayanthi Movies and made some gems like Yevade Subrahmanyam, Jathiratnalu, Mahanati, and now Kalki 2898AD. Even in a film like Anni Manchi Sakunamule that failed at the box office, their passion for cinema is clearly visible.
They proved they are ready to do all kinds of films from the small ones to big event films like Kalki 2898AD. It is clear that the legacy of Aswini Dutt is in safe hands. More than that, the Tollywood will be excitedly waiting for their upcoming films that will for sure make the industry proud.
