Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd honours Matsyagandha Express crew for their presence of mind

For their alertness and presence of mind of the crew of
Mumbai LTT-Mangaluru Central Matsyagandha Express by bringing the train to a grinding halt after they spotted
a fallen tree on the track between Barkur and Udupi in Karnataka.

KRCL Chairman and MD Santhosh Kumar Jha announced a cash reward of ₹15,000 each to loco pilot Purushottam and assistant LP Manjunath Naik. The crew were felicitated by Dilip Bhat, Senior regional traffic manager at Mangaluru’s Surathkal station on arrival of the train.

Later, the team maintaining overhead electrical equipment removed the fallen tree, paving the way for the train to head towards Mangaluru.
