Esha Deol, a, made her film debut in the early 2002 with Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche. In a recent interview, she shared that there wasn’t much pressure she didn’t feel much pressure to live up to her parents’ legacy when she signed her first two films. However, after the films were released, she started feeling “overwhelmed” by the reactions from the audience’s.
Esha further shared that she was much elated to embark on a career in films. Ironically, the pressure kicked in following the release of her films when people started writing about her. She recalled thinking, she was being compared comparing to her mother who has done 200 films. And they would say a lot about her baby fat. Oh she has so much baby fat’. Shehad, when she was 18, and those cheeks were there. But they looked cute in the kind of roles that she did and assumed they looked nice.
Esha also recounted that after hearing those comments, she had a talked with her mother, who advised her to reconsider if she really wanted to stay in the industry. Her mother reminded her that to survive in the entertainment business, you need to have thick skin. Then she went on to recall that she told her mother recalled that she is feeling a bit overwhelmed on things being written and didn’t know how to handle it but it’s affecting her. Then she why she is here? To which she said that she has always wanted to join movies and act and this is something she had been wanting to do when she was a kid. Hemaji her mother, then told her to just focus on the goal, as this is going to be part of it, she is her daughter, there is going to be constant comparisons. If she is going to let it affect her, then she is in the wrong profession, if she can handle it, then to continue. So that was a golden tip that shevreceived from her ‘Dream Girl’ mother.
