Apart from entertaining their fans, Bollywood actors have also concentrated on various social issues, be it promoting girl child education, providing scholarships, or helping people through charity, and have made meaningful contributions.
Not many may be aware that while many actors engage in good deeds, there’s one actor who stands out when it comes to charity. He is none other than ‘King Khan’ Shah Rukh Khan who not only rules hearts but also ensures that those in need and desperate for help receive assistance whether it’s funding someone’s education or covering medical treatment costs. Though he doesn’t often speak about it, news of his charitable acts frequently makes headlines.
Needless to mention that SRK has always been one of the actors in Bollywood who never hesitates to help others. One of his notable charitable initiatives is the Meer Foundation, a non-profit organization he founded. The foundation focuses on empowering women and supporting acid attack survivors by offering medical assistance, rehabilitation, and vocational training.
Beyond supporting acid attack survivors, SRK has played a key role in advocating for child healthcare. He has never viewed himself merely as a superstar but has always worked towards the welfare of children. He is the proud winner of UNESCO’s Pyramide con Marni award in 2011 for his contributions to children’s education and the World Economic Forum’s Crystal Award in 2018 for his advocacy of women’s and children’s rights in India. He is also acknowledged for his efforts in cancer awareness, providing financial aid to patients and supporting cancer research.
His generosity extends to disaster relief, where he has consistently assisted communities affected by natural calamities.
In the midst of COVID-19 pandemic, SRK made substantial contributions to relief funds, supplying medical equipment, and using his platform to raise awareness.
