Mumbai caught off-guard on wednesday due to unexpected downpour
Mumbai was caught
off-guard on Wednesday, October 9, as an unexpected downpour led to disruptions in local train services across the city.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had earlier issued an yellow alert, warning residents of moderate rainfall. However, the intensity of the rain took many by surprise, causing delays and crowding on the suburban rail network.
Meanwhile even thunderstorm alerts were issued for surrounding areas, including Navi Mumbai, Panvel, and Thane.
