Legendary actress Helen has broken her 14-year hiatus from acting to feature in the streaming series ‘Brown’. The Abhinay Deo directorial thriller is set in Kolkata and revolves around an alcoholic police officer (played by Karisma Kapoor) investigating a series of murders.
Helen expressed the “joy of being part of something special”. She noted that although the show is a dark, layered crime thriller, her character brings in moments of lightness and comic relief, which made the experience delightful.
The project features Karisma Kapoor alongside Soni Razdan and singer Shaan. Helen shared that sharing screen space with them felt entirely natural and warm. She also mentioned that she was pleasantly surprised by the modern workings of a film set—such as table readings and seminars—which were not common practice during her prime in Bollywood.
