Veteran filmmaker Imtiaz Ali recently admitted that Karti Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan’s “Love Aaj Kal” released in 2026 was a “useless experiment.”
In an interview, the filmmaker acknowledged the film’s failure, admitting that it wasn’t a viable project and that his approach to making it wasn’t right.
Elaborating further, he said he felt that the concept and making of the film failed to connect with the audience, which was not in line with his cinematic vision. The film was a spiritual sequel to his 2009 hit film ‘Love Aaj Kal’, which was badly rejected by both the audience and critics.
