PM Modi chairs high-level meeting with Economic Advisory Council

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday 7 June 2026, chaired a high-level meeting with the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) in New Delhi. Discussions centered on sustaining India’s 7.7% growth momentum and building resilience against global headwinds, including the ongoing West Asia conflict, inflationary pressures, and trade disruptions.

The council reviewed the fallout ofP geopolitical shocks on global energy markets, supply chains, and foreign exchange reserves.
PM Modi stressed the need for strategic investments in energy infrastructure, nuclear power, and domestic manufacturing.
Deliberations included structural reforms aimed at slashing compliance burdens, improving public service delivery, and enhancing the overall ease of living and doing business.
To protect the economy, PM Modi appealed for citizens to make practical lifestyle adjustments, such as adopting work-from-home measures, prioritizing public transit, reducing fuel usage, and curbing avoidable foreign exchange outflows
The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) advises the government on macroeconomic trends, policy priorities, and actionable economic reforms.
