Notedly, Mr.India and Wanted are two iconic films in the filmography of Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan respectively. .

Both the films emerged as blockbusters and the audience has been eagerly awaiting their sequel.

Recently, Producer Boney Kapoor finally gave an update on the sequels of both films stating that he has spoken to Salman Khan for “Wanted”.but he doesn’t seem to be aware when that will happen. But, he h committed to him that he’ll do it whenever he(Boney) decides, whenever he (Boney) gets the right script. This is the last conversation Boney had when he had gone to Salman to tell him that he is going with
‘No Entry’ with a fresh star cast.

Adding that he had told him that he is making Wanted, and whether he will be a part of it? to which he gave his nod. He has an idea, and will develop it.

One day that will happen and he hopes it happens sooner than later.

About Mr India’s sequel, Boney said, he has had a couple of meetings with a big overseas studio who are very seen to join hands with Boney and it could be a collaboration for a foreign studio, Zee and him. It may not be a sequel, it could just be a reboot or whatever. The idea is to make Mr India again. It could happen this year, it could happen next year or the following year. This kind of film cannot be planned in a jiffy.”

Boney Kapoor also reflected on what made the original
Mr India a superhit and agreed that Sridevi was “the beating heart of the film”. He said, “Why is it an iconic film? He would say because of Satish Kaushik playing Calendar, Amrish Puri playing Mogambo, Anil playing Arun Verma who’s taking care of the children and Sri playing Seema the reporter. In fact, even Annu Kapoor who played the editor.”

Bony further went on to add that it’s just not the film which is iconic. It’s the characters, the lines like ‘Mogambo khush hua’ and Javed’s saab’s work. It was Salim-Javed’s script but basically, all the rewriting was done by Javed saab, the dialogues were done by Javed saab. So, to outdo that would be a big task. Let’s see, we’ll make an attempt,” Boney Kapoor said.

Meanwhile, Boney Kapoor is currently gearing up for the release of his production Maidaan, which stars Ajay Devgn and releases on April 10.
