Factually it was Javed Akhtar the man instrumental in moulding the iconic “Angry Young Man” archetype in Indian cinema.

Addressing at the third session of Expresso, Javed Akhtar articulated the origins of the Angry Young Man, the relevance of the phenomenon in today’s times, and the absence of the contemporary woman on screen.

He went on record to say, that the The Angry Young Man is out of the scene today. But that’s precisely what Javed Akhtar mentioned at Expresso, where he was joined by his daughter and filmmaker Zoya Akhtar as they discussed their love for art, literature, cinema, and a lot more.

Articulating what it takes to be a star of a certain pedigree in today’s times, the legendary writer placed the onus on today’s society. “Who is a star?
